It is used to extend the overall signal distance by up to 50 metres.
The PC / Component Video Receiver over Cat5 - 50m extends the signal via CAT 5/6 cable by up to 50 metres, and would suit those with a large distance in between their PC / Component input source and their display. To function correctly, the PC / Component Video Transmitter over Cat5 unit must be paired with the Transmitter unit (PC / Component Video Transmitter over Cat5 Cable).
Setting up the unit is quick and easy. You simply connect the transmitter to your Computer Monitor or other Component input source. The PC / Component Video Transmitter over Cat5 supports high definition input source up to 1080p, and supports PC input source up to UXGA. The transmitter unit is connected to the Receiver unit via Cat5 cable, and the Receiver unit is in turn connected to your display.
The Receiver has both Audio L/R Output and SPDIF TOSLINK Output Ports. On the transmitter, audio can be connected via the Audio Input port, or you can connect an external SPDIF TOSLINK audio source via the TOSLINK Input port. A switch is located on the rear panel of the transmitter to enable you to switch between the desired output audio source (L/R or SPDIF TOSLINK).
