HDMI v1.3 to Twin CAT6 Transmitter & Receiver

HDMI v1.3 to Twin CAT6 Transmitter & Receiver is designed to convert HDMI video+audio signals to CAT6 line protocol, for transmission up to a distance of 45 meters. This means that a HD 8 bit colour HDMI signal can extend up to a distance of 45 meters, before being converted back to the same high quality HD 8 bit colour HDMI signal being transmitted. For a HD 12 bit colour HDMI signal, the distance reduces to around 15-20 meters.

Two CAT6 cables are used, one for transmitting the HDMI signal in CAT6 line protocol and the other for DDC (Display Data Channel) control signals. This allows the source (HDMI player), the HDMI TX and RX units and the sink (LCD/Plasma TV) to communicate between each other to best work display parameters etc. Some HDMI source and sink may not use or require DDC control.

The HDMI v1.3 to Twin CAT6 Transmitter & Receiver units are compact and lightweight, simple to instal and maintain. They are small enough to be mounted away in cupboards or wall recesses, out of sight. All connectors are accessible and clearly marked, with only power, HDMI and CAT6 cables to be connected in place. 5vDC 1A power is required for the Tx and Rx units and is supplied by 100-240vAC to 5vDC power paks. When power is disconnected the signal will be lost, but when power is re-connected, the units automatically detect the HDMI signal and the CAT6 protocol conversion and transmission begins again. No need to reset or restart the products.
