  • 10th July, 2008

HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers over Category 5 Cable (CAT-5) allows for the flexibility of High Definition HDMI signals to be transported, without loss of signal quality, for distances ranging from 50 meters up to 250 meters. Designed to enhance New Age technology for simple application into every aspect of High Definition system design requirements. From Home Theatre distribution around the house, to end-to-end coverage of Shopping Malls, Sports Arenas, Lecture Halls and Ampitheatres, these new high quality units transform a hard task into a simple solution.

The HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers are fully compliant with World Wide Protocol standards of HDMI 1.2, HDCP 1.1 and DVI 1.0 specifications. They function on cables of Industry quality CAT-5, CAT-5E and CAT-6, using RJ45 clip-in signal connectors for secure fastening. Each unit is powered by a 110-240vAC to 5vDC 2.6A Universal Switch Mode power adaptor, making it compatible with world AC power sources.

High Definition resolutions supported by the HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers are 480p , 480i, 576p, 576i, 720p @ 50/60Hz, 1080i @ 50/60Hz and 1080p @ 50/60Hz. This is not a scaler, so output resolution equals input resolution. A separate DDC (Display Data Channel) link is also available for connection between the HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers, and also uses CAT-5 cable as its signal transportation medium. This connection allows the display to communicate its specifications with the HDMI graphics adaptor.

The HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers are compact and made of lightweight metal housing, are easily installed and perfect for any long distance transmission of HDMI signals. Using the one Transmitter in conjunction with any one of our available three dedicated distance Receivers, you can cascade (daisy-chain) a number of transmission lengths together for those extra long transmission pathways. You can also utilise DVI enabled devices with the HDMI Video Transmitter and Receivers. Connect the source DVI output to the HDMI input of the Transmitter and the HDMI output of the Receiver to the Display DVI input, by using a HDMI/DVI adaptor cable.
